This Refund Policy explains how reservation payments work, under what circumstances full refunds or kitten replacements are issued, how schedule changes are handled prior to departure, and how our lifelong return commitment protects every cat we raise.
Unlike manufactured retail goods, living kittens require continuous daily veterinary care, nursery space, and dedicated socialization while reserved for a specific family. Our policies balance fairness to our adopting families with the practical realities of ethical feline breeding.
Conditions for Full Refund or Kitten Replacement
Veterinary Findings During the 72 Hour Initial Examination
Every kitten from Dr Thomas Kittens Home is guaranteed to arrive 100% healthy and current on age appropriate immunizations and deworming. As outlined in our Health Guarantee, buyers must have their new kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within seventy two hours of pickup or delivery arrival.
If your licensed veterinarian diagnoses a serious pre existing viral infection, such as Feline Leukemia Virus or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, or a life threatening congenital defect that was present prior to transfer, you are entitled to your choice of a 100% refund of the kitten adoption price or an immediate replacement Maine Coon kitten of equal value upon providing the veterinarian’s written diagnostic report to info@drthomaskittenshome.com.
Breeder Initiated Cancellation Prior to Departure
Before any reserved kitten departs our cattery, our veterinarian performs a final pre transit wellness examination. In the rare event that our veterinarian or Dr Thomas determines a reserved kitten is not medically ready to travel or exhibits an unexpected health concern prior to pickup or delivery, we will notify you immediately. You may then choose either an immediate 100% refund of all funds paid or transfer your payment toward another available Maine Coon kitten.
Buyer Cancellations and Deposit Transfers
Changes in Family Schedule Before Transit
When a family reserves a specific kitten, we mark that kitten as spoken for and turn away other prospective adopters while preparing travel and veterinary documents. If a buyer needs to postpone their adoption prior to the scheduled departure date due to a family emergency, housing delay, or travel change, we gladly transfer 100% of your paid reservation balance toward another kitten from a current or upcoming litter at Dr Thomas Kittens Home with no penalty.
If a buyer chooses to cancel an adoption prior to departure for personal reasons unrelated to kitten health and prefers a refund rather than a transfer to a future litter, any unspent transport fees are refunded in full, and the kitten adoption payment is refunded once the kitten is placed with an approved adopting family.

After a healthy kitten has settled into your home and passed its initial veterinary examination, routine buyer’s remorse, landlord disputes, mild pet allergies, or normal kitten playfulness do not qualify for a cash refund. However, Dr Thomas Kittens Home maintains a strict lifelong return policy: no cat from our program may ever be surrendered to an animal shelter, pound, or rescue group.

How to Request a Refund or Deposit Transfer

To initiate a refund request under our seventy two hour arrival examination guarantee or our one year hereditary health warranty, please send an email to info@drthomaskittenshome.com with your full name, your kitten’s name and identification code, and a copy of the licensed veterinarian’s signed examination report and diagnostic test findings.
Our team reviews all submitted documentation within twenty four to forty eight hours. Approved refunds are processed back to the buyer using the agreed payment method within five business days of verification, or applied immediately toward a replacement Maine Coon kitten of your choice.
